Information about cookies and browser preferences

Let us first specify the nature of a cookie, also known as “connection witness” or “web beacon”. It is a file which is stored on your hard disk by a Web server for a defined temporary period of time in order to facilitate your navigation and to improve B2C’s website quality. Distinction should be made between “navigation cookies” and “cookies used for statistical analysis purposes”.

Navigation cookies enable B2C to memorise information such as your email address, your “Account” identifiers, the search terms you typed in the search engine. They are intended to facilitate your navigation on the website. Their lifetime is limited to the duration of your Internet session, which means 20 minutes following your last action on one of the website pages.

B2C also relies on some of your browser preferences such as the language or the JavaScript activation in order to facilitate your navigation. For example, your browser language detection allows B2C to propose the most appropriate website version to you.

Cookies used for statistical analysis purposes enable B2C to store information linked to your navigation such as the pages you viewed, the date and time of consultation, the location you logged in from, etc. These cookies do not enable us to identify you personally; the data they collect is then aggregated and assigned to one single impersonal visitor. This data enables B2C to analyse the relevance of the website contents in order to improve them. They have a lifetime of up to 2 years in order to enable comparative analyses in time. To that end, B2C uses a tool named Google Analytics.

You can reject cookies by modifying your web browser parameters. However, this operation will delete all the cookies used by the browser including those used by other websites, which can lead to the alteration or loss of settings or information. Deleting cookies can modify, even make your navigation on the website of B2C more difficult.
